| According to Japanese team record, there is no such little pond exists. We guessed that the landslide block the river and we didn't want to get wet. So, we climbed about 50 meters high and get back to riverside again. | ![]() |

Another surprise which we didn't need! A huge pool blocked by the landslide. You can't see the end from this side. We were not sure how long it will be, so we decided to climb high again, but after one and half hour ascent and descent, we were back to where we started again. The only choice left was to swim accross. I put on PFD and flippers and jumped into water. The water was cold and incredablly clear. I can see the hugh rocks lie 5 meters beneath me. Finally, I got to the other side of the pool. We used up 2 ropes and some webbings. Totally 100 meters!!! I pulled 5 of them over at once. The progress was slow, but I already did my best using every inch of muscle I got. I was so exhausted hualing them and worried they were going to freeze to death in the water. When they finally came over, I sit down. No, actually I collapsed and breathed like a dog...It's another highlight of the trip. |

I think it's day 12. The end of struggling with water. We will go up to the main ridge from here. We thought home was near... In fact, it involved another bushwacking ascent more than one thousand meters... |
