The team leader of river tracing trip always bears huge pressure and responsibility. Adan was the leader of this trip. We have been climbing together for 8 years. He is those kind of people who got charisma, always try to do new things, and always try to break the rules. Me, on the other hand, a little bit conservitive (compared to him), together we make a good match.
Da-Lun river tracing expedition was the first time that I wasn't the leader in the team. Actually, I quite enjoyed being a team member, contributing my knowledge and skills, and not to worry about where to camp tonight. As a leader, you need to know who is the best candidate for certain terrian. How to maximize the team performance is the key. This trip really challenged every single team member. For me, I knew I did the best I can to swim across one of the very strong current and climbed up the narrow gorge. After I set up the anchor and pull my team members over, I realized that was my best performance ever. That was my limitation. I felt complete, even though I almost got hypothermia due to long exposure in the cold water. My heart felt warm even my body was shaking. I don't remember my 20 years old birthday, I might not remember anything professors taught me in the classes, but I will always remember the moment when I overcome the current and the narow gorge, it's a moment only belong to myself: I was smiling, and I can't stop my body from shaking.
